Our client has an opportunity for a Repair F&DT Engineer to join them on a contract basis in Filton, until the end of 2025. You will be working as part of a dynamic and reactive team you will be responsible for the Fatigue and Damage Tolerance (F&DT) assessment of metallic wing structures. Role : Repair F & DT Engineer Location : Filton, 60% onsite as a minimum Hours : 35 per week Hourly Rate : Non-Approver Rate - £40.00 - £46.00 Umbrella Approver Rate - £46.00 - £50.00 Umbrella Clearance : BPSS required to start What you'll be doing: Perform Fatigue & Damage Tolerance assessment of repairs using approved methods and tools. Create, compile and co-ordinate justification reports and associated engineering documentation required for repair approval. Ensure all tasks and activities required for Repair Engineering are correctly planned, monitored and executed to achieve customer time scales. Work in conjunction with the Repair Design and Static Stress Engineers to develop optimum repairs. Requirements: Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent) and relevant engineering experience. Wing repairs experience. (would look at Airbus experience from other areas of the Aircraft) Experience of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis of aircraft structures using a range of hand and computer methods. An understanding of the fundamental methods of Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis and an ability to apply these methods. Knowledge and experience of using Fatigue and Damage Tolerance analysis tools and methods (including ISAMI and Mathcad). Experience of compiling Fatigue and Damage Tolerance justification reports to standards and ways of working. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
