Clinical Nurse Specialist – Urology Location: The Harborne Hospital, London Salary: Competitive Benefits Contract Type: Permanent Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday (two part-time positions available) About the Role We are urgently recruiting two part-time Clinical Nurse Specialists to join our Urology team at The Harborne Hospital, supporting the Birmingham Prostate Specialists Service. Each role is part-time, and together the two successful candidates will cover the full-time service requirement of 37.5 hours per week. These are independent part-time positions, not a job share. You will provide specialist nursing care for patients with benign and malignant urological conditions, including education, treatment, and basic investigations. You will also contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) discussions and clinical decision-making. Support and training will be provided by senior nursing colleagues, a well-established team of surgeons and oncologists, and the wider MDT. Main Duties Pre-operative counselling for prostate cancer surgery Teaching clean intermittent catheterisation and self-dilatation Performing and interpreting flow rate and bladder scans Administering intravesical chemotherapy/immunotherapy Managing painful bladder conditions MDT list coordination and remote attendance Supporting ward staff and conducting audits Communicating effectively with patients and carers Exercising clinical judgement and autonomous decision-making Acting as a resource for patients and staff Key Responsibilities Work within professional code and competence Develop and streamline clinical protocols Apply evidence-based practice Maintain and expand professional knowledge What We’re Looking For Essential: Experience in urology surgical care Desirable: Oncology nursing experience Familiarity with bladder scanners and flow rate monitoring Strong clinical judgement and patient-focused approach Why HCA UK?
