Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams.
As an officer in the Compliance and Monitoring team, part of the Reservoir Regulation team, you will be responsible for monitoring compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
Responsibilities
* Manage day-to-day correspondence
* Record incoming documentation on our database to ensure records are accurate and up to date
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act
Team and environment
You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, part of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is a nationally dispersed team comprising 25+ members who regulate more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. The team is dispersed across the country; some travel and overnight stays will be required.

Additional information
This role is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week). This is a national role so you can be based at any Environment Agency office. Travel and incident response duties may be required as part of working for the Environment Agency. Interviews will take place remotely on Microsoft Teams week commencing 06 October 2025.
