AHP Associate

To contribute as an AHP Associate by delivering high quality care that supports the mobility and independence of the Isle of Wight community, working under the guidance and supervision of the wider Community Outpatients service line.
As part of the Community Outpatient Services, the Associate will collaborate and develop skills alongside Podiatrists, Physiotherapists, Orthotists, Prosthetists, Technicians, an Occupational Therapist, a Nurse specialist, and other non‑registered professionals with various clinical specialisms. The team supports patients safely and effectively, focusing on service quality improvement, personal development, and growth. Main Duties
* Provide high quality care to maintain the mobility and independence of Isle of Wight population under supervision of the Community Outpatients line.
* Work alongside other cluster members as part of a multiprofessional team.
* Ensure effective communication with patients, relatives, and carers, managing barriers to understanding.
* Maintain accurate records of all patient consultations and related work, including computerised data collection, according to departmental guidance.
* Attend and actively contribute to locality, peer group, and working group meetings.
* Communicate effectively with other professionals for delivery of patient care.
* Assess treatment plans, return periods, and risk factors, escalating safely to senior colleagues as needed.
* Use decision‑making processes to refer patients to other professionals or departmental specialist areas following agreed referral pathways.
Qualifications
* English and Maths GCE/GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above or equivalent qualification to demonstrate numeracy and literacy.
* GCE AS/A level, NVQ level 3, Vocational Qualifications level 3, Baccalaureate Qualification Advanced or equivalent level of knowledge.
* Computer literate with demonstrated ability to autonomously, effectively and efficiently use Microsoft office suite and intranet/internet.
* Evidence of experience of working with Allied health Professionals within the NHS (such as work experience/observation sessions) or working within related NHS settings.
* A‑Level qualifications or equivalent (e.g. NVQ 3); Health & Social Care NVQ level III or above or equivalent experience.
* CPD relevant to the profession.
* Completion or commencement of The Care Certificate.
Experience
* Demonstrated ability to utilise specific databases autonomously.
* Evidence of working with the public, especially within the healthcare field.
* An understanding of rehabilitation and human anatomy and physiology.
* An understanding of safeguarding and data protection policies.
* Exercise Class knowledge.
* Confident leading educational/exercise classes.
