Axcis is partnering with an innovative alternative provision in Salford to recruit Construction & Trades Practitioners for part‑time and full‑time roles. The role involves hands‑on instruction in bike repair, tiling, plastering, and general construction for young people aged 11‑16, fostering confidence, independence and transferable skills.
Employment Details
* Start date: ASAP
* Day rate: £95+ (dependent on experience & qualifications)
* Location: Salford
* Contract: Full/Part‑time
* Hours: Mon‑Fri 8:30 am‑3:30 pm
Responsibilities
* Deliver practical, hands‑on sessions in bike repair, tiling, plastering and general construction.
* Support students with SEMH needs through engaging tasks.
* Create a safe and structured workshop‑style environment.
* Encourage teamwork, problem‑solving and personal development.
* Introduce students to transferable skills for future employment.
Qualifications & Experience
* Practical experience in bike mechanic work, tiling, plastering, construction or related trades.
* Experience or willingness to work with young people aged 11‑16.
* Understanding of SEMH needs and how to support pupils in practical settings.
* Proactive, adaptable, and hands‑on approach.
* Strong communication skills and patience.
* Commitment to a full‑time, long‑term role.
* Ability to provide an up‑to‑date DBS or be willing to have one processed.
