Network Engineer - Low Latency - AWS - Palo Alto - Financial Services
Excellent opportunity for a skilled, hands-on Network Engineer with Low Latency experience and expertise in AWS & Palo Alto to join a leading Financial Services organization in Lincoln. Reporting to the Head of IT Infrastructure, you will collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and operations teams to design, build, and maintain high-performance network infrastructure supporting trading operations, focusing on AWS and data center environments.
Role Responsibilities
1. Design, deploy, and manage scalable, secure cloud and data center infrastructure for high-performance trading. Implement advanced AWS networking solutions (VPCs, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect) across accounts and regions, optimizing for low-latency connectivity near exchanges.
2. Automate infrastructure deployment using Terraform, Ansible, and GitLab CI/CD, applying GitOps principles to ensure consistent, auditable deployments. Build resilient, self-healing network systems.
3. Optimize infrastructure for low-latency, high-availability trading. Collaborate with developers on performance tuning and troubleshoot cross-region network issues.
Professional Experience and Skills
* Advanced AWS knowledge, ideally at AWS Professional Certification level.
* Extensive experience with AWS networking services including Transit Gateway, VPC, Direct Connect, and VPC peering.
* Strong understanding of on-premises data center networking and colocation environments.
* Proficiency with Terraform and Ansible for automation.
* Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles.
* Knowledge of container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS).
* Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as OpenSearch, Prometheus, and Grafana.
* Understanding of security best practices and AWS CIS Benchmark standards.
* Experience in designing low-latency network solutions.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills.
* Experience with multi-region and multi-account AWS environments.
* Background in supporting high-performance or financial trading systems is preferred.
* Proven ability to design fault-tolerant, resilient network architectures.
