Health and Safety Manager

The business has shown consistent growth and is constantly developing new systems to maintain their competitive advantage. The successful Health and Safety Manager will receive support and development to achieve and maintain excellent health and safety standards.
The Role:
1. Develop, maintain, and monitor local EHS & Fire policies, systems, and procedures to meet legislative and operational requirements.
2. Ensure that risk assessments, environmental impact assessments, and fire inspections are conducted by line management and followed up with corrective actions. Manage hazards effectively (e.g., COSHH, Noise, Emissions).
3. Provide EHS & Fire training and toolbox talks for all employees.
4. Advise management on current and upcoming EHS and Fire legislation, setting internal standards for compliance. Identify gaps and areas for improvement.
5. Develop and audit EHS and Fire standards, good practices, and provide reports.
6. Maintain EHS Manuals, processes, procedures, documentation, and records, including ISO45001, ISO14001, and PEFC certifications.
7. Maintain the site fire safety plan and fire logbook.
8. Investigate incidents thoroughly and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
9. Track progress on Health, Safety & Environmental Action Plans, communicate updates, and produce reports for management.
10. Set EHS and Fire safety objectives aligned with site goals.
11. Build and maintain environmental testing protocols in anticipation of future regulations.
Requirements:
* Health and Safety Management experience
* Environmental experience (ideal)
* NEBOSH Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
* Understanding of LOLER and RAMS
* Proven experience as HSQE Manager in manufacturing or industrial environment
* Experience in driving changes and improvements
