Role Overview
Supporting the HVACR Business within Johnson Controls' Global Products and Solutions organization, your mission will be to deliver exceptional returns across the portfolio of products by driving sustainable value creation through most important growth and commercial excellence, operational improvements, and organization related initiatives. You will be responsible for ensuring delivery of a robust roadmap of Business growth and operations, working closely with the management and broader HVACR teams as well as central strategy, transformation, and functional teams.
The role will be responsible for defining and driving strategic initiatives and leading and overseeing large-scale, complex programs from initiation to implementation. The role involves strategic planning, resource management, and stakeholder engagement at the executive level and will closely collaborate with other program leaders including Engineering/Product, Manufacturing, Finance and external partners as well as drive further linkage by overseeing and managing the execution of any necessary acquisitions or divestitures to support the strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Define and drive strategic initiatives and lead large‑scale, complex programs from initiation to implementation. Provide strategic planning, resource management, and executive‑level stakeholder engagement, collaborating with engineering/product, manufacturing, finance and external partners.
Lead development of long‑term strategic plans and refine existing strategic initiatives. Collaborate with executive leadership to define actionable initiatives with clear roadmaps for execution (strategic rationale, scope, business cases, budget, schedule, resources) and ensure alignment to business financial targets.
Coordinate M&A and post‑merger execution: work with corporate M&A team to identify opportunities supporting strategy; collaborate with product, sales, and operations teams to define integration roadmaps and realize value from acquisitions or divestitures.
Review and implement best practices: support assessments of manufacturing, operational and commercial processes; identify improvement opportunities; drive benchmarking and competitive analysis.
Program management and performance monitoring: develop and implement a global PMO; deliver regular communication of progress to Board of Directors and senior leadership; establish KPIs and metrics; manage workstream leaders and initiative owners to meet deadlines; lead problem‑solving and resolution of initiative issues.
Lead cross‑functional global teams, fostering collaboration, alignment and motivation. Adapt communication style to varying audiences and cultures; ensure team members understand the impact of their contributions. Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, clients and partners, to facilitate communication and manage expectations.
Provide mentorship to junior program managers and team members, fostering professional development and enhancing program management capabilities within the organization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing program outcomes and implementing lessons learned in future programs.
Qualifications
* MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
* Background in management consulting.
* Experience in the Building Technologies line of Business.
* Minimum of 12 years of business experience with a minimum of 8 years managing a team, programs or projects.
* Well‑rounded business leader with strong capabilities and understanding of commercial, operational and financial levers of the business.
* Excellent communication skills in a technical environment, including presentations to C‑level and VP‑level stakeholders.
* Ability to engage globally and work effectively in a culturally diverse organization.
* Excellent understanding of financial concepts and familiarity with standard financial reporting.
* Ability to think strategically and adapt quickly to new environments and demands.
* Willingness to challenge others and be challenged.
* Ability to operate and influence across a matrix organization and manage team members by influence without direct reporting.
* Experience with a wide variety of structured problem‑solving processes and reporting tools.
