£24,000 to £25,000pa + pension with a 4% contribution, 25 days holiday increasing every year, 25% discount in our stores and hybrid working policy
This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours. Our core business hours are Monday to Friday – 9am to 5pm but we have a flexible approach to start and finish times.
Our hybrid working model is 3 days in the office, 2 days working from home.

About the Role
Hobbycraft is the UK’s leading art and craft retailer with 109 stores across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and an ecommerce channel that has grown substantially over the last 2 years. This is an exciting role that is vital to driving product performance and delivering our ambitious digital growth strategy.
As the Ecommerce Merchandiser, you will ensure our key categories and product catalogue is strategically merchandised in an inspiring and commercial way, based on the latest data and industry trends. You will ensure day to day accuracy of product locations on site and that all products are consistently merchandised to an exceptional standard, whilst always putting customers at the centre of everything you do.
You will be responsible for achieving the highest possible conversion across your digital portfolio and will have the opportunity to deliver your merchandised plans in a fresh and innovative way.
In doing all of this you will work closely with our knowledge and supportive Product Content Manager, Site Search Manager, Digital Design and Content Manager as well as our partners in Buying. The role will be reporting into the Digital Trading Manager, and you will work within the Digital Trading and Experience Team.
Role Responsibilities
1. Manage all site product merchandising, ensuring product placement and search result pages are optimised and perform regular site walks to always ensure 100% accuracy.
2. Ongoing management of site taxonomy, working closely with the wider teams to ensure we’re offering relevant products and categories in the most shoppable way in-line with SEO requirements.
3. Planning and execution of strategies for category management and optimisation, setting and testing rules to improve performance.
4. Producing weekly and monthly reporting & analysis on site performance, in-depth category and product performance and highlighting opportunities and underperformance along with actions to deliver results.
5. Work closely with the teams to execute the website calendar, promoting products and collections in-line with the wider marketing teams strategies monitoring and reporting on performance.
6. Competitor research and suggestion of possible site improvements / a/b tests to improve key website metrics.
7. Ensuring we have a best-in-class website and identify issues and snags - reporting anything to the dev team to fix.
8. Using tools to study customer behaviour and identify improvements to the customer journey.
About you
9. Ideal role for an individual with hands-on proven experience in online retail.
10. Strong organisational skills – able to plan and allocate resource for multiple categories, products and projects and develop working practices to ensure continued process improvement.
11. Customer focussed with a proven track record of considering customer journeys and applying customer and campaign insights to merchandising decisions
12. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team and influence delivery and change
13. Analytical, numerate and results orientated with good commercial and KPI understanding and experience using Google Analytics
14. Fast learner, with an ability to work at pace and adapt to change in a fast-paced retail environment with tight deadlines
