About City Gate Construction
City Gate Construction is a privately owned Construction, Refurbishment and Maintenance main contractor established in 2003, with offices across Scotland and England. Headquartered in Paisley, it employs over 200 staff across eight fully integrated divisions and focuses on trades apprentices (approx. 15% of workforce). Our accreditations include ConstructionLine GOLD, Safe Contractor, CHAS, NICEIC, GasSafe, SNIPEF and Achilles.
The Role
Proactive and experienced Contracts Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day supervision of planned maintenance and upgrade works across Renfrewshire and surrounding areas. Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within time and budget, working with in‑house operatives, subcontractors, and management to maintain high standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise the delivery of planned maintenance and upgrade works from start to completion.
* Ensure projects are completed on programme and within agreed budgets.
* Maintain accurate records of all projects.
* Lead and supervise site teams, promoting high standards of workmanship, productivity, and professionalism.
* Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring performance aligns with company expectations.
* Provide clear instructions and support to operatives to ensure efficient project delivery.
* Ensure all works comply with health and safety legislation and CGC procedures.
* Monitor site standards and address any non‑compliance promptly.
* Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and subcontractors.
What We’re Looking For
* Proven experience supervising maintenance or refurbishment projects, ideally within planned maintenance or upgrade works.
* Strong background in planned maintenance and upgrade projects.
* Experience leading teams and managing subcontractors.
* Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident working with a range of stakeholders.
* Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and site compliance requirements.
* SSSTS or SMSTS certificates.
* Full driver’s licence.
Location
Based at our head office in Linwood, covering Renfrewshire and surrounding areas.
