CONSULTANT IN CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY/FORENSIC PSYCHIATRY at Foxgrove Medium Secure Adolescent Unit. NHS Ayrshire & Arran is seeking to recruit a dynamic and forward thinking Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist or Forensic Psychiatrist to provide clinical leadership to Foxgrove. Foxgrove will be the national medium secure adolescent inpatient hospital on the Ayrshire Central Site. Foxgrove will be an 8 bedded unit and provide specialist services to young people aged 12-17 years.
This post is to provide 10 sessions to Foxgrove. The Terms and Conditions of service are those determined by the Consultant Contract and the post is offered on a 10 programmed activity basis. Opportunities may exist for Extra Programmed Activities to be undertaken subject to service requirements. The post will include participation on an on-call rota. Applications from individuals who wish to work on a part-time or job share basis will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to Foxgrove Medium Secure Adolescent Unit.
* Deliver psychiatric services for young people aged 12–17 years at Foxgrove (8 bedded unit).
* Work on a 10 programmed activity basis with potential for Extra Programmed Activities as required.
* Participate in the on-call rota as part of the post.
* Contribute to service development and multidisciplinary team collaboration.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
* On the Specialist Register or within 6 months of anticipated award of CCT or CESR at date of interview.
* Member or Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent.
* Eligible for, or willing to seek, Approval under section 22 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003.
* Travel and a full driving licence would be beneficial.
Terms and Conditions
* 10 programmed activities per week.
* On-call rota participation.
* Opportunities may exist for Extra Programmed Activities subject to service requirements.
