Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for refining and finishing metal components to meet quality standards, ensuring a high level of craftsmanship and precision. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication, grinding, or mechanical work to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
* Finishing / Polishing metal using polishing power tools.
* Ensuring specific polishing operations are carried out on various metals and to meet production schedule requirements.
* Spot welding
* Use of various tools such as Avdel guns
* Ensuring operations meet production schedule requirements.
* Assisting other areas within the Sheet metal department such as Press Brake operatives.
* Ensure that work is conducted in a safe environment according to safe practices and that PPE is worn at all times.
* Operating equipment as instructed through appropriate training, reporting faults or defects to the Supervisor and cleaning equipment and surrounding areas when necessary.
* Additional tasks as and when required relevant to the job role assigned by management.
* Completes all required safety procedures prior to and during operations.
* Ensure that personal conduct is in line with management guidelines and company rules.
Qualifications
* Experience or knowledge in fabrication, grinding or mechanical assembly is desirable
* Familiarity with sheet metal work and the use of hand tools and tooling equipment
* Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions (not essential)
* Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship
* Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
* Prior experience in polishing or finishing roles is advantageous but not essential;
