Estate Caretaker / Groundsman
An opportunity has arisen for a Caretaker / Groudsman to provide a 6 star service to maintain and enhance the infrastructure and grounds of a prestigious family owned Estate.
You will report to your team leader and work alongside the caretaking team. You will have set caretaking responsibilities on a daily and regular basis. This role will be diverse at times which will involve you being an important asset in helping with the smooth running of the property. You must therefore be flexible, practically minded and have excellent communication skills. An eye for detail is a must.
Duties primarily involve
· Regular cleaning of external furniture – seating, light fittings, bollards, camera posts, and other infrastructure within the grounds.
· Cleaning/ jet washing pathways and hard surfaces – grit salting in cold weather.
· Checking and cleaning low level drains and gullies, cleaning low level windows and sills
· Clearing debris from tennis court, artificial turf and play areas.
· Clearing debris from ponds, pools and lake.
· Organising the estate refuse, cleaning bins and running errands when necessary
· Regular cleaning and servicing of client bikes and children's toys
· Cleaning estate utility vehicles and garden machinery
· There is also a requirement to provide a supporting role to the house staff ensuring the smooth running of events, and the home on a daily basis .e.g. helping to move furniture, helping with deliveries, arranging out door cushions etc.
· Fluent in spoken and written English.
· Strong attendance and punctuality records.
· Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently.
· Ability to understand and follow directions as given.
· Ability to work with minimal supervision.
· Experience in a similar environment would be a benefit.
· Full UK driving licence.
· Live within 45 minutes' drive of the Estate.
· Have at least 3+ years' experience in a similar role.
Contract Terms
The positions are full time posts. Core hours, but during parts of the year flexibility is desirable to match the Estate's needs.
· Post 1: Tuesday to Saturday inclusive
· Post 2: Monday to Friday inclusive
· Annual leave – 28 days per year not including public holidays.
· Salary- up to £32,000 gross per annum, with a 13th month discretionary pro-rata bonus at the end of the year.
· Uniform and tools supplied.
