The Senior Planner is responsible for developing the baseline contract programme, including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover. Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the preparation of a construction (target) programme, highlighting areas for improvement against the contract programme.
2. Develop tendering programmes and validate these with the supply chain, including preparation of settlement information.
3. Ensure all programmes are fully logic-linked, generating a robust critical path and float paths, and capable of analysis.
4. Plan from first principles by developing logic, assessing work quantities, calculating periods, and resource loading.
5. Prepare sequence sketches and mark-ups for logistics, including planning workbooks to support the programme bases.
6. Support the development of 4D programmes where applicable.
7. Engage with the supply chain to develop and validate the project programme concerning design, lead-in times, construction periods, and resource requirements.
8. Be aware of risks related to H&S, commercial, quality, and time, and document programme risks.
9. Include hold points for inspections and quality sign-offs.
10. Identify opportunities and create conditions to capitalize on them.
11. Be familiar with different contract forms, including NEC, and incorporate provisions for TRA and terminal float.
12. Maintain electronic files and administer planning and programme documents using the common data environment (CDE).
13. Produce contract and tender programme files to a high standard, capable of passing CIOB or DCMA quality checks.
14. Work effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders on live projects.
15. Manage and develop junior planners.
16. Possess extensive knowledge of UK and EU legal frameworks, especially contract management.
17. Have experience in laboratory constructions and high-tech manufacturing facilities (desirable).
18. Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
19. Possess excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Asta PowerProject and Primavera P6.
20. Hold relevant degrees or diplomas, with qualifications in construction management.
21. Have certifications in planning software use and advanced training in Asta Powerproject and Primavera P6.
22. Membership in relevant professional bodies is desirable.
23. Offer basic BIM training and understanding of the common data environment.
