Job description summary for an experienced CDM Principal Designer in our Energy Team within Environment & Energy SH&E. This national role can be based at any primary UK office, with a preference for London and the Southeast.
As a CDM Principal Designer in our Energy Team, you will foster positive engagement, provide support, advice and guidance, disseminate CDM knowledge across projects, advocate best practices, and reinforce health, safety and wellbeing in all that we do. You will collaborate with teams and clients to provide Principal Designer services within our Energy business. You will report to the Environment & Energy Principal Designer Lead for the UK&I region and help develop Principal Designer resources, contributing to an environment that encourages professional growth.
Responsibilities
* Plan, manage, monitor and coordinate the pre-construction phase of projects with design teams and others.
* Coordinate with design teams to apply general principles of prevention during the pre-construction phase.
* Ensure compliance with duties under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
* Coordinate with all duty holders during the pre-construction phase to ensure cooperation.
* Assist clients in providing the pre-construction information.
* Liaise with principal contractors and share information relevant to the construction phase; prepare a Health and Safety File for client handover.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering the Principal Designer role on energy or geographically long projects (e.g., roads, pipelines), ensuring effective delivery of CDM duties.
* High commitment to quality, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
