We are searching for a Senior Underwriter to form a key part of Chubb's A&H Midlands & South Corporate Team. The successful candidate will have underwriting experience at a Senior Underwriter or Underwriter level and will be responsible for generating growth of the Portfolio with key Brokers and Clients, while maintaining and developing a portfolio of existing accounts.
Role responsibilities include:
* Underwriting and servicing personal accident and travel policies for Corporate clients and the production of new business.
* Supporting our Accident & Health business by developing and managing relationships with a panel of accounts, both existing and new to Chubb.
* Account management, referrals, portfolio management, product development, compliance, and governance.
* Planning, forecasting, reporting, and liaising with key Chubb stakeholders to maximize opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
* Underwrite new business or renewals according to guidelines, budget, and business plans.
* Represent Chubb to brokers, clients, and internal teams, servicing key producers and clients, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.
* Assist in formulating underwriting strategies, forecasts, and portfolio management to achieve profitability, including quality control through reviews.
* Develop products within your area of expertise to improve client retention and attract new business, collaborating across teams and regions.
* Maintain ongoing contact with internal colleagues and clients, and help train and mentor underwriters and assistants.
* Provide accurate monthly and quarterly forecasts.
Account Management:
* Manage P&L for existing and new clients, ensuring profitability, appropriate pricing, and terms.
* Ensure compliance with all regulatory principles, including FCA and Treating Customers Fairly, and that contracts are current and relevant.
* Set and achieve business plans for retention, development, growth, and profitability of key partners and clients.
Projects and Data Initiatives:
* Support regional and global project initiatives.
* Contribute to A&H product development and digital underwriting analytics to enhance distribution channels.
Qualifications:
* ACII preferred but not essential.
* A Levels or higher qualification.
Skills & experience:
* Extensive underwriting and market experience, preferably within a global organization.
* Solid understanding of the insurance market and competitors.
* Proven experience working with brokers and clients.
* Results-oriented with strong decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication, attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
* Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and data management.
* Team player with a commitment to high-quality service.
