Overview
There is an exciting opportunity for a Cleaner to support our services at Yeatman Hospital. This post is 12 hours per week.
Week 1 = Mon, Wed, Sat (4.00pm to 8.00pm).
Week 2 = Sun, Mon, Wed (4.00pm to 8.00pm).
Responsibilities
* Support the Facilities Manager in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in a clinical ward based environment and non-clinical areas throughout the main hospital.
* Ensure a clean, safe and comfortable environment is maintained.
* Vacuuming, mopping, general cleaning/damp dusting, cleaning bathrooms and toilets, emptying bins, and use of mechanical floor cleaning machines.
* Be part of a team with a flexible approach, good communication skills, and the ability to use your own initiative.
* Opportunity to work extra hours as able to cover sickness and staff holidays.
* On-site training provided and PPE provision is included.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Employment in this post requires a Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check; the Trust will cover the cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
* Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply for this position.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team, with the ability to use your own initiative.
Contract and Transfer
This post is part of the Facilities and Estates which Dorset Healthcare may transfer to an NHS wholly owned subsidiary within the next 6–12 months. The NHS wholly owned subsidiary will continue to offer NHS Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions, including NHS pensions, both to transferring staff and to new employees recruited after the transfer date in 2026.
