ALF is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and expanding lender specialising in Bridging and Development Finance. With a strong market reputation, a healthy deal pipeline, and a consistently growing loan book, they are now seeking an experienced Underwriter to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid underwriting background who is keen to take full ownership of cases and play a key role in the company’s continued growth.

The Role
You will work closely with brokers, solicitors, and internal teams to ensure deals are processed efficiently and within agreed service levels. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position where attention to detail, sound decision-making, and strong communication skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Assess and underwrite bridging loan applications in line with company policy and lending criteria
* Carry out detailed due diligence, including reviewing valuations, credit searches, and legal documentation
* Collaborate with Business Development Managers to evaluate new opportunities and ensure suitability
* Prepare comprehensive lending recommendations
* Liaise with solicitors, brokers, and valuers to ensure smooth case progression
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in underwriting processes
About You
* Previous underwriting experience, ideally within bridging or development finance
* Strong understanding of property lending, risk assessment, and due diligence
* High level of accuracy with the ability to meet tight deadlines
* Confident communicator with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
