Job Description:
You will occasionally be required to travel to our office in Canterbury in line with business needs (Travel and time paid).
Overall purpose of the role
To provide an effective and efficient administration service and support the work of the Commercial teams. Promote and follow good project governance through policies and procedures, and work with team targets and the business plan.
Accountabilities
Proactively identify good quality business opportunities while working with customers who value our offering, aiming for long-term relationships.
Main Duties
* Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects.
* Support senior Quantity Surveyors with tender documentation and procurement processes.
* Monitor project costs and track expenditure against budgets.
* Attend site meetings and assist with site reports and progress updates.
* Prepare, process, and manage contracts and change orders.
* Assist in managing the valuation process, including assessing work completed and payment schedules.
* Support negotiation and settlement of disputes with contractors and suppliers.
* Ensure compliance with legislation, health and safety standards, and project specifications.
* Process and provide information to all parties involved to progress work.
* Manage commercial paperwork and maintain files.
* Input commercial data into IT/manual systems as required.
* Follow project governance, policies, and SOPs.
* Help maintain builders' profiles and contractor competence.
* Ensure quality data returns.
* Assist with developing and administering processes.
* Perform any reasonable tasks as requested by your line manager.
* Act as a point of contact for clients and customers, fostering good relationships.
* Support the Commercial teams to manage works according to contract requirements.
* Ensure prompt resolution of queries and complaints to meet commercial targets.
Experience
* Experience in construction.
* 1-2 years working with SOR contracts, including JCT, TPC, PPC, NEC, in repairs and planned maintenance sectors.
