Job Description:
Our rivers and estuaries are under threat. Could you help fight for healthy rivers and shape our charity for the coming years? Are you a leader with a passion for protecting the environment? Do you want to be part of a dynamic team working to preserve one of the most precious resources in our community?
As part of the national network of Rivers Trusts, we focus on the Arun, Rother, and Western Streams Catchments in West Sussex—home to unique and rare species like sea trout, otters, and chalk streams. Our goal is to improve local water quality and river habitats affected by climate change, pollution, water abstraction, development, and more.
As our Trust grows, we aim to strengthen our board of Trustees, particularly with fundraising expertise. As a Trustee, you'll have the chance to shape the future of our riverscapes, working with a dedicated team to protect and preserve this vital ecosystem.
Responsibilities include:
* Participating in regular meetings and decision-making.
* Acting as a role model and advocate for the trust.
* Assessing and managing risks.
* Ensuring the trust's resources are used appropriately.
* Collaborating with the WSRT team on fundraising efforts.
