Overview
Breakdown & Recovery Team Member (Hoo Junction) at Deutsche Bahn. Based at Hoo Junction with the Breakdown & Recovery department, this role assists with derailments or incidents on the UK rail network. Breakdown & Recovery is a national service that restores normal running conditions safely and efficiently, with work performed under the instruction of the Breakdown & Recovery Supervisor.
While this position is based at Hoo Junction, you may be required to travel around the UK as needed.
Responsibilities
* Support the supervisor and team in restoring rail services safely and efficiently following incidents.
* Create a safe working environment in the depot and on site.
* Manual handling of packing materials and jacking equipment.
* Undertake cutting/welding tasks as competence permits.
* Carry out maintenance in the depot to ensure equipment is safe and stored correctly.
* Proactively use depot time to maintain equipment, develop skills, and support the wider team.
* Work shifts covering a 24/7 period including bank holidays, weekends and nights.
* Role is 42 hours per week.
