Join Compass Community as an Education Business Support Officer

Do you have a passion for education and strong organisational skills? Compass Community is looking for a School Operations Officer to ensure the smooth running of our school’s non‑teaching operations. This pivotal role bridges office staff and senior leadership, making a real difference to staff, pupils, and families.


Responsibilities

* Oversee the day‑to‑day operations of the school office, ensuring a welcoming and efficient front‑of‑house service.
* Manage school systems and databases, including pupil records, attendance, and safeguarding.
* Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher and the wider school team.
* Coordinate maintenance, health and safety checks, and resource orders.
* Support statutory data submissions and compliance processes.
* Act as the first point of contact for parents and carers, ensuring timely and professional communication.
* Organise school meetings and events, including agendas and minute‑taking.
* Support with HR administration, admissions, and financial compliance.


Qualifications & Experience

* Strong administrative experience, ideally in education, social care, or a regulatory setting.
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
* Familiarity with compliance processes, audits or data reporting (desirable).
