 
        
        Postdoctoral Research Associate in Cosmic Reionization
The Opportunity:
We seek applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the field of cosmic reionization, to advance our understanding of the first galaxies and their connection to the intergalactic medium. The successful candidate will work with Laura Keating at the Institute for Astronomy (IfA), University of Edinburgh, and will work on a variety of projects in this area, depending upon the experience and research interests of the successful candidate. There will also be an opportunity for the successful candidate to lead further independent research projects. 
This post is fixed-term, (for 3 years) and full-time (35 hours per week); however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. 
The salary for this post is at Grade UE07: £41,064 to £48,822 per annum, pro-rata if part-time. 
Your skills and attributes for success: 
 1. a PhD (completed by post start date) in Astronomy or related subject;
 2. relevant research experience in galaxy formation and/or the evolution of the intergalactic medium;
 3. a record of high-quality lead-author and co-authored refereed journal publications (relative to career stage);
 4. good timekeeping and time-management, with effective prioritisation of tasks;
 5. an ability to communicate complex information clearly, orally and in writing;
