We're looking for a creative, organised, and driven Senior Communications Officer Fixed Term Maternity Cover to lead compelling campaigns that support UCL's mission to widen access and help students thrive. This maternity cover role sits within the Access and Widening Participation Office and Student Funding Office, where our work changes lives — engaging with young people, families, schools, and communities to open doors to higher education.
About the role
This role is ONLY eligible for internal candidates. This is a 9 months secondment role.
In this dynamic role, you'll:
* Design and deliver creative multi-channel campaigns for internal and external audiences.
* Produce engaging content for web, social media, print, and video — ensuring it's on-brand and impactful.
* Manage and grow our social media presence, track analytics, and refine strategies based on insight.
* Collaborate with colleagues, partners, and suppliers to deliver high-quality communications on time.
* Contribute to a joined-up, evidence-led approach to UCL's widening participation and student funding strategies.
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in developing communications campaigns and using social media to engage diverse audiences.
* A confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across a complex organisation.
* Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite and content creation for both digital and print.
* Organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects at once.
* Knowledgeable about CMA guidelines for student recruitment and committed to accuracy and transparency.
