Overview
Join to apply for the Volunteer Content creators | Endometriosis South Coast role at Endometriosis South Coast
We\'re seeking a creative Content Creator to develop engaging, inclusive digital content that raises awareness of endometriosis and supports our community. You’ll produce social media posts, videos, and graphics aligned with our mission and values.
What difference will you make?
Your creativity will have a direct and powerful impact on how we connect with people living with endometriosis, particularly those who are often overlooked—such as the LGBTQ+ community, people of colour, those in the military, and individuals living in rural or underserved areas. By helping us tell our story in a way that is accessible, inclusive, and engaging, your work will shape how we present ourselves to the public, potential funders, partners, and most importantly, the people who need our support the most. Your content will help break the silence around a condition that is still too often dismissed or misunderstood, and it will support our mission to inform, advocate, and empower. We are a small grassroots charity doing big things on a tight budget. Every piece of content you create has the potential to inform someone of their symptoms, connect someone to peer support, or encourage someone to seek care they’ve been too afraid to ask for. You will help us raise awareness, fight misinformation, and create visibility for endometriosis as a full-body, life-impacting condition. With your input, we can increase our reach, grow our supporter base, and advocate more effectively for inclusive research, better clinical training, and equitable care. Your work will help amplify the voices of those with lived experience—many of whom feel they have never been heard. Together, we can build a future where no one feels alone or unheard in their endometriosis journey. Your impact will be felt every time someone sees a post and says, “That’s me. I didn’t know anyone else felt like this.”
What are we looking for?
You don’t need to be an expert in endometriosis - what matters most is your commitment to producing engaging, accessible, and representative content that reflects the voices of our diverse community.
What we are looking for – qualifications and qualities
* Skills and experience that would be helpful
o Content creation
o Experience writing posts, designing graphics, or producing videos for social media, blogs, websites, or campaigns
o Digital platforms Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn
o Storytelling Ability to turn complex ideas, lived experiences, or research into accessible and engaging narratives, respecting tone and context
o Design awareness An eye for visual consistency, layout, and accessibility (e.g. use of alt text, high contrast, captioning)
o Audience understanding An interest in or understanding of how different communities experience health differently, and a desire to create content that speaks directly to them
* Qualities we value
o Empathy and respect — handling sensitive topics with respect, non-judgment, and mindful language
o Inclusivity — reflecting the diversity of our community and commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion, anti-racism, disability access, and trauma-informed language
o Curiosity — willingness to learn about endometriosis through lived experience, advocacy, and grassroots knowledge
o Initiative — bring your own ideas and creativity
o Reliability — clear communication about availability and ability to follow through on content pieces
o We especially welcome candidates from underrepresented backgrounds, including people of colour, LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, and those from military or working-class communities
What will you be doing?
This is a flexible volunteer role for someone who enjoys storytelling, creating meaningful content, and engaging audiences through inclusive and accessible digital media. You’ll help us build a strong, visible presence across platforms—primarily Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and our website.
The main responsibilities include:
* Writing and designing social media posts and campaign content
* Creating reels, short videos, or infographics to explain symptoms, highlight services, or share lived experience
* Supporting storytelling for awareness weeks, impact reports, or donor updates
* Aligning the content plan with national awareness campaigns and local outreach
* Translating lived experience into sensitive, empowering posts
Key deliverable: Your main goal is to create content that boosts our visibility and impact, especially among underrepresented communities. We aim to publish 2–4 pieces of content each week, though this can be adapted to suit your availability. Some posts will be recurring, while others may be reactive or community-driven.
Who you\'ll work with
* Collaborate with our Marketing Manager and Marketing Trustee, and occasionally with our Founder and community volunteers involved in advocacy or visual storytelling
* You may engage with partner organisations to co-create or share content
* Check-ins, support, and access to tools like Canva, Google Drive, Meta Business Suite, and Trello to help you work independently and creatively
Flexibility
This role is very flexible. If you’re great with video, we’d love more TikToks and reels. Prefer writing or designing graphics? We can tailor the work to your strengths and interests. This is not a one-size-fits-all role—it\'s about what you enjoy and what fits your capacity. We especially welcome content that reflects our community’s diversity, including LGBTQ+ people, disabled people, and those with complex experiences of care or from military backgrounds. If you\'re passionate about health equity and want to create content that makes a real difference, we’d love to hear from you.
