About the role
We are looking for a Technical Supervisor to lead Mechanical & Electrical maintenance activities across the Dartford River Crossing and tunnel.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll manage a team of M&E technicians and oversee subcontractors to ensure all maintenance works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with operational and compliance standards. You’ll play a key role in maintaining one of the UK’s most critical road networks, ensuring it remains safe, reliable, and fully operational.
The role operates on a 4‑on, 4‑off shift pattern, covering both days and nights.
What you’ll be doing
* Lead and supervise M&E maintenance activities across the network
* Manage and support a team of technicians, as well as subcontractors
* Plan works, carry out site inspections, and deliver clear briefings and debriefs
* Ensure all activities are carried out safely, promoting a strong Zero Harm culture
* Contribute to and improve risk assessments and method statements
* Monitor performance, allocate resources, and manage rotas and staffing levels
* Maintain accurate records of work completed, resources used, and associated costs
* Identify issues affecting safety or performance and implement solutions
* Drive continuous improvement and identify cost‑saving opportunities
* Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
Who we’re looking for
* Mechanical or Electrical qualification
* CSCS Supervisor card and SSSTS or SMSTS
* Experience in highways or tunnel M&E maintenance (including HV/LV systems and pumps)
* Strong understanding of health, safety, and compliance requirements
* Proven experience leading teams and managing subcontractors
* Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* Full UK driving licence
