IKM Testing in Aberdeen is looking for askilled and motivated Valve Technicianto join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, supporting both onshore and offshore operations.
Role Overview
As a Valve Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting all valve department operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of tasks. You’ll also help maintain strong client and team relationships.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with planning / forward planning of all valve operations within the IKM Aberdeen facility.
* Assist with workshop activities for all upstream and valve operations.
* Lead offshore PSV campaigns.
* Support all field operations across all IKM service lines, both in the yard, onshore, offshore and internationally.
* Assist with all technical enquiries from the Tendering department.
* Have an understanding of company QHSE systems and programmes and ensure compliance.
* To carry out your duties and responsibilities in accordance with any and all Company Policies, protocols, procedures, risk assessments and systems (including emergency and incident routines) as well as specific site assignment instruction/requirements.
* Preparation of all new procedures for the valve department.
* Assist in sourcing equipment.
* Supporting all day to day workshop operations for the department.
* Provide technical and logistical support to the Department.
* Support in the finding of new work opportunities.
* Keep up to date on any new equipment developments.
* Adhering to Company’s policies and procedures.
* Be available for training in other service lines.
* Train IKM personnel in Valve & PSV repair and testing
* Travel to other IKM office.
Experience
Required:
* Must have previous experience working in the oil and gas industry.
* Experience of all valve types, including any actuation and controls.
* Operate PSV testing container
* Able to refurbish and fault find in PSVs and valves
* Able to read P&ID’s / Isometric Drawings.
* Ability to accurately record dimensional data for the repair/re-manufacture of valve components.
* The ability to understand varying client valve, actuation, material, paint, specifications for both the supply and overhaul of valves.
* A sound understanding of the relevant API, ANSI, ASME, BS standards relating to valves.
* General understanding of machining processes and weld repairs on valves.
* Experience with both high pressure hydro and gas testing.
* Computer literacy - Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred:
* Ideally experience within the project environment.
Qualifications Required
Preferred:
* BVAA or other relevant valve certifications
