Overview
Caseholding Team - Central Locality, Southampton Children’s Services. Ofsted inspection (June 2023) reported all services as Good with Outstanding Leadership and Management. The service is on a journey of improvement. This role is for two Family Practitioner posts within Southampton City Council’s Family Help Team, Central Locality. You will be Level 4 qualified (BTEC, NVQ or equivalent) in Education, Health, Social Care or Early Years or committed to gaining the qualification.
About The Role
* You will participate in the effective delivery of early help intervention services to children, families, and carers; undertake early help assessments, early planning via Team Around the Family (TAF) meetings; contribute to multi-agency planning, implement actions, provide interventions, and co-ordinate resources in relation to children in need.
* Provide a service to children and their families who meet the threshold for early help intervention. Assess, plan, and review needs for appropriate services and provide reports. Offer advice, support and information to meet children and families’ needs in partnership with carers/parents.
* Commit to the protection and safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and value and respect their views and needs.
* Contribute to the development of the team and service, ensuring service users receive effective services with anti-discriminatory practice and in accordance with agreed performance standards.
* Participate in individual and group supervision and training to ensure team and departmental performance standards are met and personal professional skills and knowledge are developed.
* Ensure written records are accurate and kept in accordance with Data Protection requirements and department policies and procedures.
You Will
* Have a clear understanding of children’s safeguarding procedures and processes.
* Be accountable for own workload and arising issues, ensuring individual and team performance is maintained.
* Be creative and able to prioritise, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Have excellent IT skills including Excel and Word and other IT databases, with the ability to switch between them easily.
* Have excellent written skills, including the ability to write reports and present information clearly and concisely.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £37,280 - £40,778 per annum. The starting salary is £37,280 with annual progression through the salary bands.
