About the role
The GLA is looking to recruit a Support Officer to provide a full range of high‑level administrative and secretarial support to members of the London Assembly’s Reform Group. You will be part of a small team of four people supporting the Group.
What you will do
* Drafting and coordinating casework responses.
* Coordinating diary appointments.
* Managing correspondence.
* Undertaking a range of business support tasks.
* Acting as the first key point of contact for Assembly Members both within the Greater London Authority and for constituents.
Who we are looking for
* Organised with strong communication skills and a close eye for detail.
* Ability to manage correspondence and casework support.
* Primary responsibility for diary coordination for assigned Assembly Members.
* Research skills across a range of areas to support casework responses or constituent/stakeholder meetings.
* Professional first point of contact for the Assembly Member, dealing with a wide range of internal and external people and organisations.
* Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment and proactive approach.
Essential criteria
* Experience working directly with influential, high‑profile people in a pressured environment and dealing with confidential/sensitive issues.
* Successful track record in a similar role delivering effective administrative, diary and business support to leaders.
* Demonstrable research skills to quickly grasp information from a range of sources on a wide range of policy topics.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, experience of writing a range of documents for different audiences within short timescales.
