Ongoing support workers are needed across Coventry to work in adult settings. Hours are flexible to work around you and include day and night shifts.
Your new role
Your main role as a support worker will be ensuring the safety andfort of service users. You will predominantly be working with elderly service users, so as well as carrying out tasks to ensure the smooth running of the home, you should also encourage service users to have confidence and independence and encourage engagement in activities.
You will be working with people from a variety of backgrounds, with varying levels of needs. With this, behaviour can be challenging, and you will need to be adaptable. Despite the challenges, this will be a rewarding role.
What you'll need to succeed
1. At least 6 months experience in the last 2 years in similar settings
2. Experience and willingness to get involved and be a proactive member of the team, taking part in activities
3. Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour
4. Be passionate about supporting service users
5. Excellentmunication both with service users and staff
6. Have in-date and in-person manual handling training and be able to provide the certificate
7. Have a minimum of NVQ L2 in Health and Social Care
