A new and exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our fast-growing composite manufacturing facility at Technical Composite Systems (TCS) in Devon to support growth across all business sectors. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in the manufacture of composite components and assemblies, primarily using pre-preg based materials using hand lamination techniques. Knowledge and experience across a range of tooling options will be required (e.g tooling board, composite, metallic) and experience in the design of components and tooling using CAD software would be a distinct advantage. You will be a knowledgeable, self-motivated team player who is also able to work independently, and where necessary, provide training and supervision of other team members. An excellent communicator, the TCS Composite Engineer will engage with all staff in our business, and also our customers and suppliers. You will be fully computer literate and confident with all Microsoft packages e.g Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. Essential Skills required Manufacture of composite components across all business sectors Support Quote review process to propose manufacturing options/solutions for new customer enquiries Author work instructions to define and deliver composite manufacturing processes Accountability for FAIR activities on new projects Supervise training programs for production staff Work alongside company Directors to engage with business stakeholders - Customers/Higher Education Partners/Manufacturing Catapult centres Propose new technologies and business efficiency improvements Desirable Skills Generate Tooling design concepts using CAD software and oversee the production and implementation of tooling suites into the business. This includes patterns, mould tools, bonding fixtures, machining fixtures Knowledge of CAM software (NCG CAM is currently used) Experience of AS9100 working environment This new role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity for a practical individual who has proven experience in manufacturing areospace and defence composite components.
