We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team! This full-time position in Lancaster, PA, involves designing and controlling manufacturing processes to meet customer demand and performance objectives related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost/Value, and continuous improvement programs.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
* Recommend methods to improve worker efficiency and reduce waste, including restructuring duties, reorganizing workflows, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchasing new equipment.
* Identify manufacturing process improvement opportunities, including automation to enhance operations.
* Design and implement processes to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
* Control and sustain process designs to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives are met.
* Lead teams to develop and implement manufacturing and business process improvements.
* Develop problem resolution plans using root-cause analysis techniques.
* Create value stream mapping documentation for assembly operations.
* Establish and maintain manufacturing process FMEAs to prioritize corrective actions and ensure robust processes.
* Maintain manufacturing procedures and standard work instructions for operational consistency.
* Conduct time studies and analyze work samples to develop labor standards.
* Suggest changes to working conditions and equipment to increase efficiency.
* Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology improvements.
* Analyze workforce utilization, facility layout, and operational data to optimize resources.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university.
* 2+ years of related experience or training, or equivalent.
* Strong process improvement experience preferred.
* Good communication skills and computer literacy.
Skills and Abilities:
* Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and procedures.
* Effective report writing and presentation skills.
* Mathematical and reasoning skills.
* Knowledge of manufacturing software and word processing tools.
Physical Demands:
Regularly standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing; occasional sitting, reaching, climbing, stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distant vision and color differentiation.
Work Environment:
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, heights, chemicals, weather, electrical shock, vibration, and forklift traffic. Reasonable accommodations available.
