Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their In-House Legal Team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer specializing in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. This role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provide legal support on various legal and regulatory issues for a global professional services organization.
2. Advise on matters related to technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and support daily commercial and regulatory legal issues.
3. Manage compliance with applicable laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
4. Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal expertise.
5. Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
6. Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes, focusing on legal and regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
7. Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
8. Provide practical, risk-aware legal advice aligned with business objectives.
9. Create presentations and articles on legal topics.
10. Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
1. UK-qualified lawyer or equivalent with significant experience, preferably including in-house roles.
2. Strong legal skills with experience handling complex legal and regulatory issues.
3. Strategic risk management skills with the ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation strategies.
4. Proficiency in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across jurisdictions.
5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex cases.
6. Ability to balance legal risk management with business growth needs.
7. Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working in a fast-paced, global environment.
8. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
