General Manager -New Opening Sports & Leisure Centre - Orpington area - Circa £45,000 + excellent benefits
We are looking for a General Manager to open and manage an incredible new sports and leisure facility in the Orpington area with multiple pools, state of the art gym and studios, spa, kids' zone and café.
You would be working for an ambitious progressive Leisure Trust who continue to invest in their teams, new and existing facilities and services and who live by their mission to increase the health, wellbeing and physical activity levels of the communities they serve.
Key responsibilities:
1. Recruit, Coach, support and develop your leadership team, inspiring a culture of service excellence and drive for results.
2. Support the commercial strategy to drive sales across all their products and services including gym membership, studio classes, swimming lessons, sports activities, kids' activities, retail and events.
3. Support with delivering health and well-being initiatives within their centre and in the wider community.
4. Full financial accountability: profit and loss, income, expenditure, helping set the budgets and business plan.
5. Oversee the smooth operation of the facilities ensuring they are clean, safe and complaint with regulations.
6. Build strong relations with internal and external stakeholders ensuring you meet and exceed the needs of the community you serve.
7. Working a 40-hour week typically office hours with the expectation to work some evenings and weekends for important events.

The ideal candidate will have:
17. At least 3-years senior management experience within the fitness/ sports/Leisure industry, possibly as a Club Manager, Sports Centre manager or General Manager
18. Experience in coaching, developing, inspiring and progressing team members within a business.
19. Experience in managing multi-million-pound budgets, developing business plans and able to read profit and loss accounts.
20. Operational experience and working understanding of health and safety in a multi-faceted business.
21. An appreciation for fulfilling community health and wellbeing objectives.
22. Living within easy reach of Orpington.
