Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to help deliver our regulatory responsibilities, placed on us as the Enforcement Authority for the Reservoirs Act 1975 in England. The Reservoirs Act helps to ensure the safe operation and management of dams.
Responsibilities
* Monitor compliance with the Reservoirs Act 1975 for the 2140 reservoirs in England.
* Manage day-to-day correspondence.
* Record incoming documentation on our database to ensure that our records are accurate and up to date.
* Encourage compliance when reports or certificates are not received as expected.
* Be the first point of contact for reservoir owners and panel engineers.
* Provide information and advice on the requirements of the Act.
Team and role details
We are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. This role is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week).
You will join the Environmental Assessment and Reservoir Regulation department, which is part of the Flood & Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Directorate. The Reservoir Regulation team is a nationally dispersed team comprising 25+ highly motivated, experienced, skilled, and passionate people who are responsible for the regulation of the more than 2140 large raised reservoirs in England. The team is dispersed across the country. Some travel and overnight stays will be required.

This is a part-time job share (22.2 hours per week).
This is a national role so you can be based at any Environment Agency office.
Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises. Having an incident role is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and an active way to support communities and prevent harm to the environment. Note: These questions will be used for interview selection. If you are applying from the Civil Service please note that the Environment Agency is not part of HM Civil Service and you would not be a Crown Servant in the event of being appointed. Therefore, you will not be eligible for continuous service.
