In this role, you will be responsible for delivering the site recruitment plan for the manufacturing workforce, ensuring weekly paid positions are filled in line with business needs. You will source candidates through a variety of channels, including online platforms, social media, offline advertising, and new initiatives aimed at attracting talent from under-represented or under-utilised groups. A key part of the role will be screening candidates in line with policy and agreed timescales, as well as supporting and upskilling line managers on recruitment and interviewing best practice. You will create and implement an annual schedule of recruitment activities such as open days, recruitment days, college visits, job fairs, and other events to promote the site as a local employer of choice. Alongside this, you will lead the development of the employee referral scheme, maintain a candidate database with regular management reporting, and build strong partnerships with external organisations such as the Job Centre and other agencies. The role also requires ensuring all documentation, including right-to-work checks and offer packs, is completed accurately and in line with employment legislation. You will take full responsibility for the onboarding process, including collecting and verifying all required documentation, adding new employees to internal systems, and ensuring compliance at every stage. You will also act as the first point of contact for candidates, ensuring effective communication throughout the process, and deliver engaging inductions for all new starters to support their smooth transition into the business.
