I am a friendly and determined woman living with reduced mobility following a stroke. I’m not someone who wants to sit on the sidelines—I’m keen to stay active, regain my independence, and enjoy life again. I’m looking for a reliable, kind, and supportive Personal Assistant to work with me for a few hours each week. This role is about more than just support—it’s about companionship, encouragement, and helping me reconnect with the activities and outings I enjoy. With the right person, I hope to rebuild confidence, reduce isolation, and have a bit of fun along the way. You will be employed by the individual and not Ceredigion County Council.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Planning and accompanying me on local outings—doing things like attending appointments or enjoying a trip out, such as a visit to the seaside for a coffee or ice cream.
* Encouraging and assisting with creative activities like knitting, crochet, and drawing.
* Providing practical, hands-on support where needed.
* Being flexible and open to helping with other reasonable requests.
* Offering encouragement and positive support on days when things feel more challenging.
This appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check, which will incur no cost to the applicant. If you have an online update DBS you have a great chance of becoming shortlisted for this position. If you wish to update your current DBS please go to https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service. If requested by the employer, two satisfactory references must be provided. This post is subject to a trial period of 1 month and a probationary period of up to 6 months. Wages will be paid in arrears on a 4-weekly basis once a valid National Insurance (NI) number has been provided. You must be eligible to work in the UK and your employer will conduct document checks prior to commencement. You will receive the appropriate annual leave entitlement as well as all other statutory entitlements, details of which will be set out in your contract of employment. You will also be issued with a Personal Assistants Handbook when your employment commences. You will be expected to undertake any mandatory training identified as relevant to this post. The cost of mandatory training will be met through the direct payment. Failure to attend mandatory training may result in your employment offer being withdrawn.

Additional Information
This role would suit someone who enjoys one-to-one work and wants to make a meaningful difference in just a few hours a week.
