We are a friendly, rural, multiple site GMS Practice with 4 Partners and 8 salaried doctors serving 14600 patients. Due to Practice growth and GP retirement, we are seeking applications from enthusiastic, motivated GPs for salaried GPs as a permanent post to help us maintain a high standard of quality care for our patients.

Emisweb clinical system. Part dispensing. Offering a traditional appointment system.
Paramedics and Clinical Pharmacists support GPs with patient contacts.
Our workflow team manage 90% of incoming documents.

GPs will be involved in the delivery of all services incorporated within the GMS contract to meet the needs of our growing patient population.

Job summary:
Thepost-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needsin a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for allregistered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities:
* In accordance withthe practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselvesavailable to undertake a variety of duties, including surgeryconsultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients athome, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries,paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
* Makingprofessional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers withinthe organisation
* Assessing thehealth care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblems
* Screening patientsfor disease risk factors and early signs of illness
* Developing careplans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practicedisease management protocols
* Providingcounselling and health education
* Admitting ordischarging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other careproviders as appropriate
* Recording clearand contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
* Compiling andissuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoidinghand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
* Prescribing inaccordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically)whenever this is clinically appropriate
* Completion ofInsurance Reports and Medicals for patients within their care.
* Contributing toduty/cover arrangements during Practice closures and for GP colleagueswhen absent.
* In general, thepost-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
