The Role
We are seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our high-caliber legal team on a 12-month maternity cover (FTC). Based in Manchester, working alongside our Co-Head of Legal, this role is ideal for an experienced lawyer with a background in commercial, IT, or technology law.
You should be comfortable working independently, possess excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. As a senior team member, occasional travel to our London headquarters may be required.
Responsibilities:
* Draft and review complex SaaS product contracts with global financial institutions
* Lead customer contract negotiations and key supplier agreements
* Advise on existing client contracts, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
* Collaborate with internal teams to support business objectives
* Manage external legal counsel to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
* Monitor legal and regulatory developments, advising on compliance
Requirements
Main Skills/Competencies:
* Significant PQE in commercial, TMT, or IT law
* Experience in-house within FinTech, SaaS, or tech-driven businesses
* Strong commercial acumen and risk identification skills
* Confident negotiator with effective communication skills
* Proactive, organized, and able to multitask in a dynamic environment
* Effective team player across functions
