About Us
At Selwyn Hall School, we believe in the power of small group learning. With class sizes of just 4-6 pupils, we ensure that each student receives the individual attention they need to succeed. Our expansive private grounds offer a therapeutic setting, complete with:
* Outdoor learning experiences, including a forest school and sensory trail
* A multi-use sports pitch and play equipment
* Fully refurbished classrooms for science, computing, music, drama, and Art/DT

Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:
* Mentoring and supporting one pupil or a small group of no more than six
* Assisting the Classroom Teacher during lessons
* Reporting on pupils' progress and collaborating with staff to meet their needs
* Supervising pupils during non-classroom time, including extracurricular activities and school trips
* Assisting with lesson planning and classroom preparation
* Setting and marking work as appropriate
* Building positive relationships to drive interaction and learning outcomes
What We’re Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should have:
* A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics
* Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH in an educational setting
* Confidence to take on additional responsibilities (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtimes, School Yoga)
* Skills in behavior management and techniques
* A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn
* Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check
