Northern State University seeks a Financial Aid Assistant to join our Financial Aid team.
Qualifications
Financial aid experience is preferred. Candidates must be focused on customer service and able to communicate effectively. Must be organized, detail‑oriented and willing to learn. Computer background and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel desired.
Responsibilities
The major function of this position is to manage the Financial Aid Office front desk. This includes mail, email, phone and walk‑in traffic, counseling customers on financial aid processes, following up with students to complete requirements, and directing inquiries to other staff as needed. Other duties include supervising work‑study students; managing file maintenance, storage, and destruction; creating deposits; organizing large mailings; reviewing financial records to meet federal requirements; and coordinating with other departments.
