Early Years Practitioner
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, kind and skilled Early Years Practitioner to join our team working in an independent school with children aged 2 to 11 years, working in the Nursery. Term time and full time positions are available.
A little bit about us
The school has been running since 1936. Each and every member of the staff team are valued and the school recognises that people can bring different ideas and suggestions all of which are equally valued. Team members as considered extended family and most of the staff have worked with the school for many years.
The Nursery opened in 2008 and has continued to grow and develop our children since then. There are two year groups; Acorns for children aged 2-3 and Oaks for children aged 3-4.
Responsibilities
Our Early Years Practitioners are fully involved in the day-to-day teaching, planning and administration of the Nursery. The successful candidate will be responsible for a small number of children as their key person, settling in new children and working closely with their families.
Our Early Years Practitioners are also responsible for keeping records and reports for all their key children and meeting regularly with parents at drop off and pick up and at parents evenings to keep the parents informed of their child’s development.
We try to run our days to mimic that of school life, using play and imagination throughout the day to start off their developmental journey getting them ready for school life. The children start to learn numbers, phonics, basic science, music and many other subjects. Early Years Practitioners will work together to create fun lessons and activities for the children in their class during term time and for all the children that are in nursery during the school holidays.
