Our service is rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission. Julia’s House supports more than 140 families across Dorset and Wiltshire, in the community, at our hospices and in our families own homes. Nurses have the opportunity to spend time with the children and their families, developing strong relationships and meeting their individual needs. The successful candidate will have experience of caring for children with complex needs. You will have the ability to work both in a team and independently and work using your own initiative as well as accessing and contributing to the skill base of the wider team.
Qualification requirements: Applicants for this role must be a Registered Nurses Associate and have experience of working with sick children. You will be based at our Dorset Hospice and work across Dorset and Wiltshire in the homes of the children we look after.
You will work with a team of Carers, Nurses, Team Nurses, Senior Team Nurses and Lead Nurses in a supportive environment. As a Nurse Associate you will responsible for assisting in the delivery of high quality clinical nursing care to meet the diverse individual needs of the children and young people. You will have experience in nursing assessment, planning and delivering care which will be evidence based in conjunction with Julia’s House policies and procedures to support delivery of safe care to children and young people with complex needs that will often change.

Flexibility is required to cover days, evenings, weekends, school holidays and occasional overnights. There are no set hours for contracted staff, our care is provided at the times requested by our families and is therefore variable. Rotas are prepared 6 weeks in advance.
This role is a 28 hours per week maternity cover contract and a full driving licence and use of a car for business purposes are essential; and all positions are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check.
