Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join an engineering company based in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting an Installation Engineer in customers workshops, homes or industrial sites.
This is a temp to perm position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position with the company after completing 13 weeks of continious employment.
Pay: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours: flexibility is required due to the nature if the job
Start times are normally at 6am ish and finish time 6pmish
There might be a requirement of lodging away - food and drinks paid form and additional £10 bonus for each night away
Full UK driving license is required and valid CSCS card
Responsibilities
1. Install, align, and assemble mechanical components and machinery according to technical specifications.
2. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential faults or wear.
3. The job may involve some heavy lifting
4. Candidate must be familiar using hand tools and powered tools
5. Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
6. Document maintenance activities and report on equipment performance.
7. Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
8. There might be a requirement to work from the workshop - preparing for instalations
Requirements
9. Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
10. Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
11. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
12. Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
13. Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy components when necessary.
14. A valid UK driving licence
15. A valid CSCS card
