Dorset Young Farmers is seeking a County Administrator to provide vital administrative and event support across the county.
About The Role
This newly created part-time position offers a flexible schedule tailored to suit the successful applicant. As County Administrator, you'll play a key role in the smooth running of Dorset Young Farmers, supporting members, clubs, and county-wide initiatives.
Duties
* Manage phone calls, emails & the county diary
* Book venues, events, judges/referees and issue competition rules
* Arrange licenses and coordinate logistics for county rallies and competitions
* Prepare agendas for Executive, Finance and General Purpose meetings and the AGM
* Attend South West Area meetings (on Zoom or in person)
* Assist with the running of a yearly county training day
* Oversee social media and promotional communications
* Maintain organised filing systems for easy retrieval of documents
* Utilise Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for document creation and management
* Collaborate with the County Chair and wider team to support Dorset YFC activities
Experience
We're looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and can work independently while being a strong team player.
Essential
* Proven office experience with a strong background in administrative roles & event planning
* Proficient computer skills, including typing speed and accuracy
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace applications, social media platforms
* Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Strong attention to detail in all aspects of work
Desirable
* Interest in agriculture and rural youth development
* Experience working with people of all ages
* Skills in advertising or digital promotions
Additional Information
* Location - Dorset based (remote and in-person work as required)
* Hours - Flexible, to be agreed with the successful candidate
* Pay - To be confirmed
* Clearance - Must be eligible for and able to obtain DBS clearance
