Senior Quantity Surveyor – Liverpool, Merseyside, UK

Our client, a prominent main contractor, is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK. This permanent, on‑site position offers a competitive salary, benefits package, and excellent career progression within a leading construction organisation.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage all aspects of the tendering process, including preparation of tender documents, pricing, and negotiation.
* Prepare and submit valuations, cost reports, and final accounts accurately and in a timely manner.
* Control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
* Manage subcontractor accounts, including interim payments, variations, and final accounts.
* Administer contracts effectively, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
* Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and potential variations.
* Provide commercial advice and support to the project team.
* Identify and manage project risks and opportunities related to cost and contractual matters.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Ensure all commercial activities are conducted in line with company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline.
* Professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) is highly desirable.
* Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a significant portion in a senior capacity.
* Proven experience in managing large, complex construction projects.
* In‑depth knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
* Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market costs.
* Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
* Proficiency in relevant estimating and cost‑management software.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and commercial acumen.


Benefits and Salary

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000 (DOE). Competitive benefits package, including pension, private medical insurance, travel allowance, and flexible working options.


Quantity Surveyor – Warrington (Vistry)

We have a new opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team within Vistry Manchester & Cheshire East, based in Warrington with travel to sites across the region. The role focuses on managing all project costs, procurement, subcontract management, and final accounts.

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Contract Managers (Urenco)

Urenco, a global leader in low‑carbon energy, is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Contracts Manager team. The role involves managing commercial and financial aspects of contracts for projects and influencing contractual cost and claims.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide guidance and support on contractual and commercial issues, including interpretation and issuance of notices.
* Implement best practices for contract management.
* Advise on legal implications of project strategies and decisions.
* Manage contractual risks and opportunities.
* Document and audit all contractual documents.
* Assist in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contract documentation.
* Administer assigned contracts in line with Urenco’s policies.
* Maintain contract communications and records.
* Support project managers in contract management and claims.
* Monitor contract performance and report issues.
* Produce monthly reports and uphold knowledge transfer.


Requirements

* Hold a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP.
* Experience in construction, specialising in civils, energy, or nuclear sectors.
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in contract management.
* Experience with procurement and framework management.
* Knowledge of NEC3, JCT, ICHEME desirable.

Salary: £65‑£80 per hour (IR35 adjusted). Full‑time, permanent, on‑site.
