Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for an opportunity to gain experience in a leadership role, if you are this is an exciting opportunity for you to join the Adult Deaf and Visual Impairment Service (ADVIS).
ADVIS is a multi-disciplinary service of Social Workers, Visual Impairment Rehabilitation Officers, Enablement Officers for people who are Deaf or experiencing hearing loss and Promoting Independence Workers who work with people who are Deafblind and Deaf BSL users. The team works with adults of all ages including people with learning disabilities, mental ill health, physical disabilities and with age related frailty.
The aim of the service is to ensure people with sensory needs can live independently and safely at home by delivering rehabilitation and social care support.
As an Advanced Social Work Practitioner, you will undertake and support the staff group with care and support assessments, support planning, mental capacity & best interest assessments and safeguarding manager responsibility.
Your role will be supporting the staff group with complex work and give them advice and guidance as required. You will also be supervisor for several staff members within the team. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of professionals within the service and take part in development work.
You will contribute to the strategic service development agenda including promoting independence, strengths-based approach, proportionate assessments, and outcome focused personal budgets.
You will be enthusiastic, motivated, and organised in your approach to delivering a quality service and be confident in making sound decisions.
You will be competent in communicating with people using our services, carers, and other professional colleagues. We would welcome applications from people who are able to communicate in British Sign Language, however this is not essential.
You must have a recognised Social Work qualification and be registered with Social Work England and hold one of the following qualifications, Approved Adult Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) or Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP), Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator or evidence of relevant post graduate study is essential.
ADVIS is a countywide service and based at Sherwood Energy Village in Ollerton, however, we offer a hybrid working model with the opportunity to work from home and office bases across the county. The post carries a casual user car allowance or taxi service for disabled employees, the applicant will need a full driving licence and access to the use of a car (except where a disability precludes this).
If you would like to know more about our supportive, energetic, and thriving team, please do not hesitate to contact either Karen Hardwick Team Manager on 0115 8040866 or Alex Robson 0115 804 4997
