Post Overview
The successful applicants will have experience of anaesthetics, have completed Stage 1 training and be in a position to join the obstetrics on-call team as well as cover general on-call duties at the RUH Bath.
This is a non-training post that offers excellent learning opportunities including supervised clinical training and non-clinical training. It is an ideal post for gaining further anaesthetics competencies or to further a career in anaesthetics. There are several exciting developments within the department and this post would lend itself to someone interested in leading quality improvement and service development.
Daytime Duties
Daytime duties consist of supervised theatre lists, anaesthetic clinics and acute pain work. This will be a mixture of training lists and service provision.
On‑call Duties
The successful applicant will be part of the on‑call rota with a maximum frequency of 1:8. It would be expected that this would include Obstetric Anaesthesia (although not exclusively) and may involve supervising less experienced anaesthetists when on call. Full consultant support is available when on call.
Training and Development
There may be opportunities to undertake a simulation or research element as part of this role. By mutual agreement there may be the opportunity to undertake training in ICU to support a successful candidate’s individual development needs.
