Operations and Workflow Manager
Manufacturing (Eastleigh)
A long‑standing manufacturing client in Southampton is looking to appoint an Operations and Workflow Manager to oversee the day‑to‑day running of their Estimating / Internal Sales Engineering team.
This is a brilliant role for someone who thrives on structure, organisation and keeping a busy department running smoothly. There’s no sales work and no technical background required — just strong people management, great communication and a love of well‑designed processes.
The role
You’ll be the person who keeps everything flowing: enquiries, quotes, orders and internal communication. The team are technical, so your focus is on workflow, accuracy and daily operations rather than producing estimates yourself.
You’ll be responsible for:
1. Managing the daily workflow of the team
2. Ensuring enquiries, quotations and orders move through the business accurately and on time
3. Creating and improving internal processes and working practices
4. Setting simple, clear KPIs and helping the team stay organised
5. Coordinating communication between Estimating, Production and Commercial teams
6. Building a positive, supportive and structured team environment
What we’re looking for
7. Experience leading a team in an operational, administrative or workflow‑driven setting
8. Someone organised, structured and confident managing busy workloads
9. Strong communicator who can support, coach and guide a team
10. Naturally process‑driven with an eye for consistency and improvement
11. Manufacturing or estimating experience is useful but not essential
