Job description
Prospero Teaching are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate tutor to provide face-to-face tuition for a young person in Year 12, located in MK42 (Bedford). This student is motivated to engage in education and is seeking support to prepare for college applications next year.
1. Location: MK42, Bedford (in-person sessions required)
2. Hours: 4 hours per week 2 hours – English GCSE 2 hours – Maths GCSE
3. Start Date: As soon as possible
4. Duration: Ongoing throughout the academic year
As a Tutor, you will:
5. Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons that meet the student’s individual needs and interests
6. Support the young person in developing emotional regulation strategies
7. Foster a positive, supportive, and safe learning environment
8. Gradually build a strong rapport and encourage participation at the student’s own pace
9. Work closely with parents/carers and other professionals as needed
About you:
10. Experience teaching GCSE English and Maths
11. Ability to provide SEN support and adapt teaching methods accordingly
12. Passionate about helping young people achieve their potential
13. Reliable, patient, and able to build rapport with young learners

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
14. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
15. Hold right to work in the UK
16. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
17. Provide references upon request
18. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
